Arizona State Basketball newcomer – Marcus Bagley: 6’7 / 220

The introduction of the four-star recruit into the starting line-up will cause senior, and break-out candidate Kimani Lawrence (pictured above) to slide to the power forward position, in order to replace White in the offense. During his senior year at Sheldon High School  Bagley demonstrated he has range from the arc that Lawrence did not as a junior in the PAC-12, with a 27 percent success rate from beyond the arc.

Bagley is not only big but athletic which was a major reason as to why he was virtually impossible to stop in the open court. His ball-handling ability will be a plus, whether it is on the dribble handoff at the slot or on the swing from up top, Bagley will draw some defensive attention due to his ability to take a defender off the dribble.

With only Lawrence returning from the 2019-20 starting lineup, Bagley will be called upon to play big minutes for Coach Hurley. Bagley’s floor seems to be 30 minutes per game while contributing fifteen points and four rebounds per game as he will easily be one of the top freshmen in the PAC-12. Bagley is going to add a lot of excitement to the Sun Devils’ offense this season.
