NCAA Basketball finalist for Justyn Mutts – Virginia Tech Hokies

The Hokies lost their best player this offseason with Landers Nolley leaving the program to transfer to Memphis. With PJ Horne also leaving the depth for the Hokies for next season at the forward position just isn’t there.

Mutts would step into a position where he could get some valuable minutes right off the bat in the ACC, Virginia Tech would definitely look like an intriguing option. Mutts would have been the leading rebounder for the Hokies last season on a team that didn’t have a lot of size. Mutts would be a welcomed presence down low next season.

How Mutts matches up with the other bigs in the ACC would be somewhat of an unknown since he’s only 6’7 and doesn’t really have the ability to step out and stretch the floor. Mutts would likely be a role player for a Hokies team that is likely to struggle again with scoring the basketball.

Virginia Tech has one scholarship remaining for next season and would love to add a good rebounder and depth for their frontcourt and Mutts would do both. Mike Young has made Mutts a priority since he announced he would be entering the portal.
