Potential NCAA Basketball option for Yor Anei – Arizona State Sun Devils

When starting big man Romello White unexpectedly left the team for Ole Miss this offseason, Arizona State has had a huge hole to fill at the center position. They did land JUCO center Chris Osten but it’s unknown if he’s able to play 15+ minutes, let alone even start. Forwards Jalen Graham, Kimani Lawrence, and Taeshon Cherry have the ability to play small-ball at the five-spot but rebounding would be a major issue.

Anei would solve multiple problems for the Sun Devils if he went there. He can play and defend well as the starting center and could get 25-30 minutes to do it. The Cowboy big man isn’t a high-usage player on offense, which is perfectly suited for the ball-dominant guards on the perimeter. Players such as Joshua Christopher, Remy Martin, Alonzo Verge Jr., and Marcus Bagley are going to provide the majority of the offense. Adding a prime shot-blocker in Anei would be an ideal match.

Potential NCAA Basketball option for Yor Anei – Auburn Tigers

With all of the frontcourt rotation players having graduated for the Tigers, Auburn is left with little-used reserves, Babatunde Akingbola and Jaylin Williams. Likely starting at this point for next season is incoming freshmen Dylan Cardwell and top-50 power forward JT Thor, who the Tigers already beat Oklahoma State out for.

With five-star incoming point guard Sharife Cooper and Devan Cambridge leading the way on the perimeter, Auburn could use a veteran and consistent presence in the frontcourt for next season to have a better shot at making the 2021 NCAA Tournament. Anei also would be a defensive upgrade for a unit that ranked in the lower-half in most categories a year ago.
