Amari Bailey, SG – 6’4″/180 – #6 Player in 2020 NCAA Basketball class

Sierra Canyon guard Amari Bailey is one of the most athletic players in the 2022 class. He more than held his own through SC’s national schedule and started alongside 2020 5-stars BJ Boston (Kentucky), Ziaire Williams (Stanford) and top-100 forward Terren Frank (TCU). The former UCLA commit holds offers from the Bruins, Alabama, DePaul and Kansas.

His ability to finish in the open floor and create transition opportunities for his team provides a lot of intrigue and upside to his game. Bailey averaged 13.2 points, 4.2 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.2 steals per game at the 2019 FIBA U16 Americas Championships. As an attack-minded and downhill guard, he will provide a big boost to the scoring column while possessing the ability to be a team’s primary ball-handler at the next level.

Bailey’s recruitment has not skyrocketed just yet, but many more programs are likely to get in the mix soon. At this stage, the Crimson Tide and Jayhawks have been the most involved programs after decommitting from UCLA. Both programs will be able to offer Bailey a prime opportunity to run the team, and while Alabama caters to his open-floor athletic traits, the Jayhawks have established a very close relationship with him. Expect Bill Self to secure the dynamic guard to run his program.

Prediction: Kansas Jayhawks
