Five-star NCAA Basketball recruit JD Davison has released a group of 10 programs to consider. Which ones are the best fit?

When it comes to the NCAA Basketball Recruiting class of 2021, there are two point guards ranked as “five-star” talents, according to at least 247sportsComposite. One is Kennedy Chandler, who a month ago, announced a final group of five contenders. The other is JD Davison, whose recruitment is just getting started.

A 6’3 guard out of Letohatchee, Alabama, Davison is one of the best pure scorers in the country at the high school level. He averaged a whopping 34 points this past season as a junior, despite defenses trying their best to contain him. He looks the part of the modern-day point guard that prioritizes scoring just as much or even more than facilitating.

Davison thrives in slashing/driving to the basket and having opposing defenses collapse, creating opportunities for others. He still needs to work on his passing and making others better, along with an even more consistent three-point shot. But while Chandler may be a better all-around point guard at this point, Davison can make a serious claim that he’s the best pure scorer in all of the 2021 recruiting class.

It wouldn’t be a surprise if Davison averages 15-20 ppg right out the gate as a freshman for whichever team he lands on. A number of teams have been making offers to him in the past month, including a few local programs looking to land his coveted signature.

With 10 teams now officially in the running to land Davison, it’s time to take a look at where he stands with each program, both in terms of potential fits and roster situations. Some will stand out compared to others and could end up being the favorites to get him.

Here’s how JD Davison would fit with each NCAA Basketball program.
