NCAA Basketball recruit Tyrese Hunter has 10 programs to pick from. Which of them are the best potential fits for the point guard?

According to recruiting site 247sportsComposite, there are 13 point guards ranked in the top-100 the 2021 NCAA Basketball recruiting class. The biggest stars, JD Davison and Kennedy Chandler get most of the early attention. But don’t overlook others, including Tyrese Hunter from the group as well.

While some sites may differ, Hunter is a consensus four-star prospect, currently ranked No. 84 overall. From Racine, Wisconsin, the 6’1 guard led his high school team St. Catherines to an undefeated 26-0 season before the state playoffs were cut short. Hunter’s great play solidified him as a top-100 talent and one of the best overall players in the Midwest region.

He’s a modern-day scoring point guard, with great athleticism and quickness to get any kind of shot he wants. His vision and decision-making makes Hunter someone coaches will be very comfortable with having the ball in his hands and in a certain situation, can be a starter as a freshman.

His recruitment is now truly getting started, with 10 programs officially in the running to land Hunter. Several have been in the picture since the beginning, while others have entered the picture more recently. But with zoom visits the only thing currently allowed and an entire senior season still to go, it’s anyone’s game to land the top-100 guard.

So who will land Hunter when it’s all said and done? There may be no current favorite but some of these options could be a more intriguing landing spot than others. Here’s a closer look at the potential fit for the talented point guard.
