Former five-star recruit and Oregon forward CJ Walker has elected to enter the NCAA Basketball transfer portal. Where will he ultimately end up?

A year ago, the Oregon Ducks finished up building a highly-touted NCAA Basketball recruiting class. Ranked in the top-5 according to 247sportsComposite, the team was led by five-star frontcourt recruits, N’Faly Dante and CJ Walker.

While Dante was ineligible for the non-conference portion of the schedule, Walker played a fair amount of minutes, starting seven games and having some impressive performances, including back-to-back 12-point efforts against both Gonzaga and Seton Hall, along with a season-high 18 versus Hawaii.

But Walker was never able to break out of the frontcourt logjam for Oregon, which featured Francis Okoro, Shakur Juiston, and Chandler Lawson all getting playing time as well. And once Dante entered the picture in Pac-12 play, the 6’8 forward saw his playing time barely reach double figures. For the season, Walker averaged 4.0 ppg and 2.5 rpg in 15 mpg.

With everything going on during the Covid-19 pandemic, many players are considering moves back close to home. That now includes Walker, who has officially entered the transfer portal and gave an explanation on social media:

From Sanford, Florida, Walker seems to be planning a move back to the Sunshine state. There are a number of programs in the state that makes this a potential fit, with a good possibility of a waiver coming for the versatile wing. The non-conference performances showed real promise for Walker and without a logjam to prevent minutes, could become an All-Conference player in the future.

With the location being a primary focus, here are six NCAA Basketball programs that could realistically land CJ Walker.
