UConn Basketball ends their time in the AAC. Who were the best Huskies to play during the short era?

UConn Basketball was a founding member of the American Athletic Conference joining in 2013 and winning a national championship in their first year in the conference. It was the Huskies fourth title since 1999. Success after that was bumpy for the Huskies as they made just one more tournament appearance, that appearance was courtesy of their 2016 AAC Tournament win.

The trip home to the Big East has sparked new life in the Huskies program and fan base as they look forward to rekindling some old rivalries. UConn has been aggressive with recruiting recently and multiple recruits have cited that the move back to the Big East has piqued their interest.

With UConn leaving the American and heading to the Big East, here’s a look back at some of the best players in the past few years as the Huskies look to turn the page and return to the top of the college basketball world.

The only criteria for this were that it had to be a somewhat realistic lineup, as much as some might want to throw five guards on the floor it’s not at all realistic. I wanted to have some fun with this and keep some structure to a lineup that you’d put out there. These aren’t necessarily the five best players but the best lineup that could be put together as well as a few honorable mentions on the bench.
