10. Matthew Driscoll – North Florida (2009-2020)

While he had spent a few years as a head coach at Division 3, Driscoll was ready for his first shot as a D1 head coach with the Ospreys in 2009. He had spent the previous six seasons as an assistant under Scott Drew at Baylor, helping to resurrect that program. He had also spent time as an assistant at Clemson in the years before. North Florida had only just finished their transition to D1 athletics, giving Driscoll quite a challenge ahead.

North Florida has adjusted well under Driscoll’s leadership. He led the program to their first NCAA Tournament in 2015 and has won three regular-season Atlantic Sun titles to date. The Ospreys have never really had a bad season under Driscoll, finishing in the top 4 of the conference in each of the last seven seasons. They aren’t consistently making NCAA Tournaments, but they are a consistent conference contender.

Driscoll is responsible for all of the D1 history for the program and the last decade-plus has certainly been a solid start. The Ospreys could be destined for a return to the NCAA Tournament down the line, which would only raise Driscoll’s profile on the national stage. He’s done solid work throughout his career, even as an assistant in the Big 12, but just doesn’t have the postseason success to land higher on the list.
