4. Will Brown – Albany (2001-2020)

By the time Brown took over as Albany’s head coach, he was barely 30 years old. He had very limited prior experience, though he did spend three seasons as a junior college head coach before joining the Albany staff. He was promoted to head coach after just eight games as an assistant in 2001 and is responsible for all of the Great Dane’s success in the America East since joining D1 a few years before then.

Suffice to say, success has arrived in Albany since Brown’s ascension to the top job. He’d led the Great Danes to five NCAA Tournaments, two in the mid-2000’s before three straight from 2013 to 2015. He’s led Albany to eight total postseason appearances and made them a pretty consistent program for the most part.

The last few years have seen more struggle, but five America East Tournament titles are impressive, especially seeing as how Albany has just two regular-season titles during Brown’s tenure. He’s nearly two decades deep on a great coaching career and should have Albany turned around and ready for even more success in the years to come.
