Maryland Terrapins

Formerly ranked as the “most obnoxious” college basketball fanbase by Thrillest.com, the Terrapins play each night with an undeniably fierce and unapologetic force behind them, determined to bother their home team’s adversaries by any means necessary. During past years, actions from Maryland fans earning them this title include collectively taunting opposing Big Ten players for their apparent ugliness and obesity.

Some instances even included Maryland fans throwing newspapers onto the court prior to tip-off and launching batteries onto the hardwood as well. These tactics and how they specifically help the Maryland basketball team win might leave you scratching your head, but their general ability to create wide-range uneasiness and distress for any visiting team looking to escape with a win goes without question.

Once entering the XFINITY Center, if you were to wear anything absent from the school’s distinguishable color pallet, some fans will surely take it upon themselves to fix it for you, blanketing whatever opposing threads you picked out that day with soda, beer, or perhaps a milkshake. This mindset championed by Maryland fans stops any potential fan-opposition against their team dead in its tracks, making it incredibly difficult for their opponents to gain any momentum.

But once removing this unique asset from the Terrapins, opportunities for other teams to dictate a game’s nature and flow open up unlike never before, which obviously bodes poorly for Maryland as it potentially pushes them out into a territory particularly unfamiliar to them.
