Davidson Wildcats

Long-time head coach Bob McKillop would be a great choice to develop under for four years, while the Atlantic 10 is a strong but not too difficult of a league to play and potentially succeed at. For players such as Brizzi, it may be best to play for a top-tier “mid-major” program, rather than risk staying on the bench for a power conference team.

Davidson certainly can use another point guard, as former A-10 Player of the Year Jon Axel Gudmundsson is already gone, while leading scoring guard Kellan Grady is set to follow after next season. The Wildcats could use a talented starting point guard to keep up with the Daytons and VCUs of the world, working with wing Hyunjung Lee and big man Luka Brajkovic.

Michigan Wolverines

With three commitments already in the 2021 recruiting class, Michigan is still looking to add a point guard to replace seniors Mike Smith and Eli Brooks. The team has several ball-handlers in the group interested in joining besides Brizzi, including Jalen Warley and Frankie Collins.

On one hand, this prospect could be taking a risk in choosing the Wolverines, before an even better recruit in the class picks them. However, head coach Juwan Howard has shown that he’ll find ways to expand his rotation, and Brizzi’s shooting ability could allow him to play a combo role off the bench. The positive momentum of the program could help out in this recruitment, especially since the PG position is wide-open for 2021-22.
