Former Alabama forward Javian Davis-Fleming is an intriguing transfer on the market. Which NCAA Basketball programs are in the running to land him?

Part of the first full NCAA Basketball recruiting class for head coach Nate Oats, Javian Davis was a three-star center prospect out of high school. Ranked just above 300 nationally, the 6’9 big man elected to redshirt while Donta Hall led the way in the frontcourt.

Last season, Davis got some opportunities to play, including 14 starts (most from the non-conference) and around an average of 16 mpg for the season. His average overall was 6.0 ppg and 3.8 rpg on 59% shooting from the field while having several games of big individual performances.

Davis had nine games of double-digit scoring, including 19 against Florida Atlantic and a season-high 20 points and 10 rebounds late last season in a win against South Carolina. One thing the center is really good at is drawing fouls, with several games of 8+ free throw attempts despite having limited minutes on the court.

He’ll have to showcase his skills on a new team though, now that Davis has elected to enter the transfer portal. The redshirt sophomore was going to struggle to find minutes and a clear role in the future, particularly with the late arrival of four-star big man Alex Tchikou.

There are still a number of programs that can use Davis’s size and skill. And although he’s slated to redshirt and sit out next season, the center could argue he was “ran out of the program” via Tchikou, giving him a potential argument for a waiver. But first, he’ll have to select his new NCAA Basketball team. Here’s a look at how he fits with each of these six finalists.
