Siena already has the best player in MAAC Basketball in Jalen Pickett. But could they also have the second-best in forward Manny Camper?

MAAC Basketball made some headlines earlier this offseason when one of the conferences powerhouse teams the Iona College Gaels hired former Louisville Head Coach Rick Pitino to lead their program. Iona made the headlines by hiring Pitino and that move would instantly place the Gaels at the top of many preseason predictions. The MAAC does have another team 2.5 hours north on Interstate 87.

Loudonville, New York is home to the Siena Saints and had COVID-19 not canceled the rest of the college basketball season, Siena was going to likely be the representative for the MAAC in the NCAA Tournament. The Saints are coming off their best season since the 2009-2010 season when current Iowa coach Fran McCaffrey led Siena to the NCAA tournament.

The Saints already have the best player in the MAAC in junior guard Jalen Pickett. Everyone already knows how good Pickett is and he was a feature in one of these exact articles last year. Head coach Carmen Maciariello has another player who is also one of the best players in the conference. Senior forward Manny Camper makes up the best duo in the league with Pickett and those two are going to help Siena win a lot of games and Camper may be more important to the success of the Saints than Pickett.

Once again, the MAAC is going to run through Loudonville. Siena is going to be one of those teams that is going to present a tremendous challenge to any of the power conference schools they play. They are equipped to run with the big teams this year and are going to give any of them a run. Especially considering the team is loaded with players who could be playing at a power school and playing a key role for power teams. Coach Maciariello has his Saints rolling.
