#73 Jalen Terry, PG – Oregon

The Ducks were an exciting team to watch in 2019, led by super-point guard Payton Pritchard. With multiple game winners and clutch scoring runs down the stretch of games, he single-handedly willed this program to wins. His experience running the team, on-court IQ, and efficiency on the offensive end made Oregon a very potent team to face.

Unfortunately, Pritchard’s eligibility has been exhausted and college fans everywhere won’t get to watch him in Eugene anymore. However, his replacement is already Jalen Terry is already waiting in the wings to pick up where he left off. In fact, Terry is the only true point guard on next year’s roster, but don’t let that make you believe he starts by default. Terry is very talented and capable of running this team at a high level.

A shifty dribble is where it all starts for the Michigan native. He is able to freeze and attack the interior of the defense at a high rate to make plays happen. Terry is an excellent facilitator and will elevate the play of his teammates, despite having inexperience at the college level. He has an arsenal of midrange shots (floaters, jumpers, etc) he can use to score, once near the lane.

His perimeter shooting will need to improve, but he isn’t very far away from shooting a normal average in college. His ability to create space for his shot off the dribble is going to be a big asset for his development and production next season in Eugene. However, with so many strong shooters around him, this area of his game doesn’t need to be a forced issue. His chances to succeed as the primary initiator of Oregon’s offense are high.
