Atlantic 10 Basketball: Breakout candidates from each team for 2020-21
Who are the biggest candidates to break out next season for each Atlantic 10 Basketball program?
Everything was looking up for Atlantic 10 Basketball until this season abruptly ended due to the COVID-19 regulations. All fourteen teams were set to play the weekend everything was interrupted in the Atlantic 10 Tournament. The tournament was set to take place in Brooklyn, NY at the Barclays Center.
The Dayton Flyers finished on top this past season going undefeated in conference play. Obi Toppin led the Flyers to become Atlantic 10 Champions which set them up perfectly for both the A10 and NCAA tournaments. Toppin will likely be a lottery pick in this year’s NBA Draft after being named Naismith Men’s College Player of the Year and the John R. Wooden Award.
This has been a pretty quiet summer news-wise for the Atlantic 10. There have been several players that graduated and even some transferred in and out of programs. Each team’s depth chart will differ next season. We can even expect some players to break out more than others and give it their all on and off the court. This upcoming season will certainly be an eventful season especially after the prior season being cut short.
