Louisville Cardinals

Another in-state option for the Kentucky native, the Cardinals would love to get a high-quality shooter to pair alongside guard David Johnson if he’s still around for the following year. If not, top-rated class of 2021 JUCO combo guard El Ellis and Samuell Williamson will lead the way, with Kunkel playing a key role off the bench.

If the Belmont sharpshooter did pick Louisville, he would essentially have the same role as Ryan McMahon did. The 6’0 guard spilt his time between starting and as a 6th man, averaging 8.7 ppg on 44% shooting from deep. Compared to Kentucky, Kunkel would have an easier time being part of the rotation, while still playing for an ACC juggernaut with aspirations of an NCAA Tournament run.

Oklahoma Sooners

The Sooners have already added a pair of mid-major guards this offseason. Between Umoja Gibson (14.5 ppg and North Texas), and Elijah Harkless (10.7 ppg at Cal State Northridge), this team is prepared for the future departures of both Austin Reaves and Alondes Williams after next season.

But Oklahoma could still use another guard and one with a reputation for shooting. Kunkel would have a role without question but is he willing to travel outside the Kentucky area for a Big 12 team that’ll be rebuilding after losing both Reaves and Brady Manek?
