Which ACC Basketball programs have the best overall offenses for 2020-21? Here’s a closer look at each team and what they have to offer.

With the deadline for underclassmen to withdraw from the 2020 NBA Draft now behind us, the official roster for each NCAA basketball team becomes a little clearer. Granted, players have until Aug. 17 to declare for the NBA Draft, but 91 have decided to withdraw their names after going through the process and getting feedback from NBA teams. Therefore, it is highly unlikely that a player who had no notions of entering the draft and who has received zero feedback would choose to join the 64 who remain.

Rosters also have an opportunity to change by way of the transfer portal, with over 170 players still available, a coach may have a scholarship available at this late juncture and may feel he has a found a diamond in the rough that nobody else has. The more likely scenario, however, is that he rewards a senior walk-on in his last season.

Therefore, with the probability of a major roster change happening being so low, it becomes possible to take a look at how the teams in the ACC are going to score this season. This by no means reflects where the teams are going to land in the standings, for defense is a huge part of winning and losing, this is about how well the teams are going to score and how they are going to do it.

There is no claim to be in the head of the ACC Basketball coaches, they may choose to run the Flex offense for the first time in their career, or start that fifth-year walk-on who is undersized for his position, some things cannot be accounted for. Head coaches are traditionally pretty consistent, which is why conference games are so difficult to win when you run the same sets against the same coaches every year.

This is why in-conference games are only taken into consideration in comparison to last season, it ensures a more balanced schedule when comparing the offensive output. As well, with the threat of the season being delayed to the point where only conference games will be played, how well you can do against the ACC is the only thing that matters.

Here’s a look at each ACC Basketball team’s offense (players and scheme) for the upcoming 2020-21 season.
