PVAMU has been trending up in recent years in the SWAC.  Their latest commitment from Cam Mack is going to help them stay near the top.

This offseason has been one that is going to be written about in history books for a long time. It will be always be remembered as the extended offseason because of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has also been a historic offseason of sorts for the HBCU’s. Those schools are finally starting to get the recognition they deserve, and they have been able to secure some of the top available talent on the market this summer.

I have been on record saying this before that I believe the sport will be better if the HBCU’s are better and start getting better talent. So far this summer the Howard Bison have received a commitment from five-star player Makur Maker and a quality transfer in Nojel Eastern from Purdue. The Bison were not the only school to receive a commitment from a high-quality player.

The Prairie View A and M Panthers bolstered their already quality roster with a player who is going to make his presence felt and will be the best player in the league once he is eligible to play. The player is Nebraska transfer Cam Mack. The Panthers have been trending up in recent years and the acquisition of Mack makes them one still one of the best teams in the SWAC.

What makes Mack the best player in the league?  Why did he transfer from Nebraska?  What are the Panthers going to be getting with this player?  Any time a team from an HBCU can get a successful high major player to play for them it is going to be considered a win and when you have a player as dynamic as Mack that commitment is going to come in the way of wins. There is no way to think of this as a bad thing for Prairie View.
