1. Marcus Carr – Minnesota Gophers

Marcus Carr was one of the best scorers in the Big Ten last season.

After sitting out a season as a transfer from Pitt, Carr was a killer for the Golden Gophers, averaging 15.4 points per game, good for 8th in the conference. He also averaged almost 7 assists per game, second in the conference behind Xavier Simpson. Now that Simpson is gone, Carr has a good chance to be the top distributor in the Big Ten. He also is one of the top 3 returning scorers.

Carr’s best game of the season came in a win against Ohio State where he dropped a season-high 35 points, as well as handing out seven assists and knocking down nine 3-pointers. He has a natural scoring ability with a shifty handle. He’s super quick and he makes it hard for defenders to stay with him.

Carr recently withdrew his name from the 2020 NBA Draft, and with his return to Minnesota, as well as the departure of center Daniel Oturu, Carr’s role will no doubt increase.

He should become their number one scoring option. He could also be one of the best players in the conference and could make the Gophers a serious contender in the conference.
