Crimson Tide . 7. team. 523. . .

Another team part of the Davison sweepstakes, the Crimson Tide is looking for a top-tier guard in case the duo of Jahvon Quinerly and Jaden Shackelford both decides to move on after next season. There’s still a good amount of depth behind them, including freshman guards Joshua Primo and Darius Miles, as well as JUCO commit Keon Ellis.

Of course, there’s a real chance that both projected backcourt starters do return the year Sallis would potentially arrive, which would limit his production as a freshman. At the same time, the roster will look vastly different, with seniors John Petty, Herb Jones, and Jordan Bruner graduating. That’s the difference with rival Auburn, as they would only lose Cooper but return everyone else. Of course, head coach Nate Oats has shown that he can land a transfer or a late prospect in the Summer to add enough talent to be competitive in the SEC.

The biggest pro for Sallis joining Alabama is that he would excel in their offensive system, ranking 3rd in overall scoring last season. He could have the same kind of impact Kira Lewis Jr. had in his two years with the program, with an even higher ceiling of potential.

But between the Davison connection and the unknown about Quinerly’s future puts some doubt into how viable an option this will end up being for Sallis. Considering the teams coming up, a program like Alabama has to have a flawless and near-perfect pursuit to win out on a five-star talent. Right now, hat just isn’t the case.
