As Nebraska Basketball enters year two of the Fred Hoiberg era, the roster is more talented than year one. Who will be the biggest factors?

Nebraska Basketball head coach Fred Hoiberg is known amongst coaching circles as a coach who is going to run a high-powered offense and is going to load his team up with athletic players who can shoot, pass, rebound and run the floor. He plays a five out, positionless style and he is not happy unless his team is going as fast as possible. Hoiberg has been successful in college as a coach and would have been successful in the NBA had the Chicago Bulls given him something to work with.

These reasons are why Hoiberg was so appealing to Nebraska when he was let go from his NBA coaching job. When he was hired the Cornhusker fan base expected a quick turnaround a team that was going to light up the scoreboard. While that is likely still going to be true and Hoiberg will get Nebraska to the promised land and win their first-ever NCAA tournament game there are going to be growing pains along the way.

Year one was a terrible year, the worst year in the Huskers history on the hardwood. The Nebraska team ended the year with a 17-game losing streak, which is currently one of the longest in the country. Year two for the Huskers looks to be another rebuilding year however the talent is better and coach Hoiberg should hopefully guide his guys to a better record in year two.

One thing is for certain even after losing most of their games and having another year with a tremendous amount of roster turnover, but the Huskers are starting to recruit a different class of athletes than they ever have and it’s just a matter of time before the Huskers start seeing results.

This year the depth is going to be much better all around and while it still may be an uphill climb on the offensive end the results will be much better. How does the depth chart look for Nebraska?
