Duke Basketball will enter the 2020-21 season similarly to how they’ve entered most of the seasons in recent memory; with a star-studded freshmen class.

Duke basketball is known for getting the best recruits in the nation, and in 2020-21 that will be no different. The Blue Devils managed to grab six players on ESPN’s Top-100 players in the Class of 2020, five of them being within the top-32.

However, Duke also has several players returning to Durham, which is unusual in previous seasons. With players such as Jordan Goldwire, Matthew Hurt, Wendell Moore, and Joey Baker all returning, the Blue Devils have the depth that we haven’t seen from a Coach K-led team over the past several years.

With a lot of talent returning, a talented freshmen class, and also a grad student transfer in Patrick Tape, minutes are going to be hard to come by at Duke this season. In 2019-20 we saw dozens of different starting lineups and player combinations, and in 2020-21, I believe there will be even more variations.

Duke has 15 total players on their roster for next season (four of them being walk-ons), which means the starting lineup we see in the first game of the season likely won’t be the starting lineup we see in the fifth game of the season, or maybe even the second.

The Blue Devils have several options at every single position and because of that, they’re one of the more interesting and intriguing teams going into next season which makes predicting the starting lineup and depth chart so difficult, but we will try anyway.

So without further ado, let’s take a look at what Duke’s 2020-21 starting lineup and depth chart could look like:
