Florida State Basketball has a trio of intriguing newcomers for the upcoming season. Here’s a closer look at what they bring talent-wise.

With a great season the team had a season ago, Head Coach Leonard Hamilton is excited to guide this Seminole team back to a top-notch team in the NCAA. As any school always does to remain a contender, Florida State Basketball has recruited some very high octane players who can make big contributions to their level of success. Let’s take a look at the Seminoles’ upcoming freshmen class.

Scottie Barnes

Scottie Barnes was one of the dynamic pieces that made Montverde Academy successful this past season. His energy on the floor seemed to motivate his teammates to play even harder on the floor. Barnes is a very unselfish Power Forward who is strong in the post and loves the fastbreak.

When in transition, Barnes is like a freight train that is looking to bulldoze through everyone in front of him. He’s so talented on the break that he can find the open man or get an easy lay-in for himself.

Barnes made the perfect decision in choosing Florida State. Over the past few seasons, Coach Hamilton has built an organization that is gritty and tough-minded. Barnes’ competitive fire fits right into what the Seminoles have on their team and it can go a long way in his collegiate career. It will be exciting to watch Barnes transition from High School to College very soon.
