Florida State Basketball: Analyzing Seminoles 2020 recruiting class
By Nick Andre
Quincy Ballard
Quincy Ballard is a 7-foot phenom who is ready to transition his game to the collegiate level. In the past, Ballard had trouble receiving offers from different schools. But once his name began to linger, the schools would soon come in. Ballard seemed to have already leaned toward’s Florida State’s way after a visit on the campus a year ago. He seems to already understand how Coach Hamilton does things at the school.
Ballard is a solid player under the basket. Of course, he’s great for defense with his long wingspan. But he also can display post moves from time to time on offense.
The one place that he needs to improve upon is gaining more muscle. Now, people would think that weighing 240 lbs is plenty of stock to a player. But for a guy at 7-feet, maybe just not enough. The ACC is filled with muscular big men who love to bang under the basket as it will be Ballard’s job to keep up with the physicality. If Ballard can keep himself in the weight room to build muscle, then he’ll fit in just fine and his number will be called on numerous occasions.
It’s a bright, new year for Florida State basketball. With the NCAA Tournament canceled last season due to COVID-19, the Seminoles were declared national champions by the State Senate. Both Hamilton and the players know that’s nothing to be satisfied about. So they will come into this coming season with a chip on their shoulder, looking for a new opportunity to shock the world soon.
