Alabama Crimson Tide

The Tide has been adding a ton of guards and forwards in the past few months but not at the small forward position. That creates a potential opening for Holt to get some playing time, competing with redshirt freshman Juwan Gary after missing all of last season with an injury.

The concern for this three-star recruit is that Coach Nate Oats has been targeting top-50 prospects and transfers to rebuild the roster and they’re also after four-star class of 2021 wing Alex Fudge. This could be a scenario where Alabama easily over-recruits Holt.

Georgia Bulldogs

The likely starting small forward for Georgia will be Stony Brook grad transfer Andrew Garcia, who joins Justin Kier and JUCO newcomer Jonathan Ned. Former top-100 recruit Christian Brown will have a chance to have an impact now that Anthony Edwards is off to the NBA. The Bulldogs will need to add multiple guards/wings in the 2021 class and the local Holt is an ideal target. With Georgia Tech out of the picture as well, this is as close as a “must land” recruit for the program to target.

Miami Hurricanes

There are six scholarships available for the Hurricanes with a big current senior class, including Kameron McGusty and Chris Lykes. Top-50 prospect Earl Timberlake may only be around for a season or two, while Stony Brook sit-out transfer Elijah Olaniyi may get a waiver to play for next year. If that happens, there’s a wide-open lane for a player such as Holt to have an immediate impact as a freshman.
