How does each Atlantic 10 Basketball look for the upcoming season? Here’s how each team stacks up in terms of strength.
Every school is looking for some exciting news as to what the status is on a college basketball season, including those from Atlantic 10 Basketball. After the cancellation of several conference tournaments and the NCAA March Madness festivities, several teams have been working hard this offseason towards this upcoming season.
Although the chances of having a season are likely, there are still several questions that remained unanswered. Will players opt-out if a season is confirmed? Will some teams sit out the entire season? Will the season be pushed back? Will non-conference games take place? How do we know it will be safe to play?
The Atlantic 10 Conference has already canceled the postponement of all scheduled fall contests in conference-sponsored sports due to the continuing COVID-19 global pandemic. This includes men’s and women’s soccer, field hockey, men’s and women’s cross country, and volleyball.
The fall competitive schedules for men’s golf, men’s and women’s tennis, men’s and women’s swimming and diving, and women’s rowing will also be postponed, as will non-traditional competition seasons for baseball, softball, and women’s lacrosse. Men’s and Women’s basketball is still scheduled to take place.
We can assume that the college basketball season will take place, however, the schedule and pairings may be altered. With what we know let’s take a look at where each Atlantic 10 team is ranked and expected to finish.
