Hip Hop and Basketball have always gone hand in hand.  Actors are some of the most recognizable celebrities they are.  Who are the rappers and actors who played some level of basketball?

Basketball and Hip Hop go hand in hand. Not just with the music but with the culture as well. The roots of Hip Hop culture are centered around social justice, peace, respect, and self-worth. With the current state of the world and with basketball players at all levels using their platform to bring social justice issues to light and many of these young players are also trying to fight for respect and prove their self-worth. The two are now more connected than ever before.

It makes sense then that there are a lot of rappers who were also great basketball players who excelled in high school and on the college court before deciding to change their career path and become recording artists.

These artists were some of the biggest names in the game in their respective era and many of them were good basketball players as well. Outside of rappers, there are some actors who have also excelled on the hardwood before taking their talents to your TV screen.

These entertainers have played have every level of college basketball, and all of them excelled in High School. The fact that can’t be disputed is these individuals chose the right career but many of them would have excelled in sports had they chosen that career path.

There are many entertainers who many are not going to believe were at one-time basketball stars and could have ended up playing in college. The following slides will highlight the individuals who were at one time on a different career trajectory.
