North Carolina Tar Heels

Biggest needs: Point guard and shooting guard

Considering the great depth the Tar Heels currently have in the frontcourt, along with already having top-50 forward Dontrez Styles part of the 2021 class, the team can focus completely on the perimeter. That includes finding a likely replacement for five-star point guard Caleb Love, as well as a true shooting guard. It won’t be five-star recruit Trevor Keels, who at one point was considered favored to go to UNC.

One player who might still come is five-star combo guard Hunter Sallis, who would be a great fit on the roster. 6’4 off-guard and in-state option D’Marco Dunn is a top-100 recruit who the Tar Heels can grab, and potentially top-3 overall recruit and small forward Patrick Baldwin Jr. Of course, don’t also be surprised if head coach Roy Williams tries to find another star forward to end the class.

North Carolina State Wolfpack

Biggest needs: Small forward and center

With top-50 forward Ernest Ross part of the 2021 class, the Wolfpack already addressed their biggest need. There isn’t a position where they “must” land a recruit but adding another big man inside at center can never hurt.

Replacing scoring guards Devon Daniels and Braxton Beverly will also be important, which is why four-star shooting guard Jakai Robinson is such a big target for them. He could be part of a future three-guard lineup for NC State, with just Jericole Hellems as the only true small forward on the roster.
