4. team. 483. . . . Hawkeyes

The Hawkeyes received maybe the best news of the offseason when Luka Garza decided to return for his senior season. After initially declaring for the draft, he removed his name and is coming back to Iowa City to see if he can replicate his unbelievable Junior season.

The Hawkeyes would have been a pretty good team without him, but have the chance to be great with him. Garza lost out of the National Player of the Year award to Dayton’s Obi Topping, even though some believed he should have won it.

Garza averaged 23.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game, to easily win the Big Ten player of the year award. He isn’t the only one that can score for the Hawkeyes, though. Joe Weiskamp also returns after averaging 14.1 points and 6.1 rebounds per game. He is deadly from deep and can like Garza can beat you off the dribble.

CJ Fredrick is also back after a great redshirt freshman year where he also averaged double-digits points on the year.

The key for the Hawkeyes could be the return of Jordan Bohannon. He missed most of last year recovering from a leg injury and if he can get back to the level of play he had before he was injured the Hawkeyes could be the best team in the Big Ten.

The players are there for Iowa to be very good, but they need to show they can play defense. They can score with anybody in the country, but a lot of times they have too because they are giving up so many points. If they can even clamp down a little bit, they could be at the top of the stacked Big Ten at the end of the year.
