Biggest needs: Point guard/shooting guard and power forward

Projected picks: 23

Even though it was in a losing effort, the rise to superstardom for guard Donovan Mitchell makes the future very bright for Utah. And considering that they were without 20 ppg wing Bojan Bogdanovic, the franchise should be in contention in the west for years to come.

There are plenty of key decisions to make a year from now, with Mike Conley and Rudy Gobert set to become unrestricted free agents. Jordan Clarkson, who averaged over 15 ppg off the bench is a free agent this offseason, and the Jazz may not be willing to pay a huge amount.

Considering that Conley had his struggles fitting in this past season, it won’t be surprising if Utah goes for another ball-handler. That was a major problem in the Denver series, with the Jazz not having many players who can create their own offense.

This is a franchise that has found some luck outside of the lottery and hopes to do so again with their lone draft selection. Some guard candidates who could play well with Mitchell include Tyrese Maxey of Kentucky, Jahmi’us Ramsey of Texas Tech, and RJ Hampton.

Upgrading the frontcourt could also help but when your star guard averaged 37 ppg and your team still loses, giving Mitchell help should be of huge priority for Utah. Maybe Utah can find another gem to propel themselves to the western conference finals, and eventually, get their revenge on Denver.
