A look at three potential “bold predictions” that will happen in the Big East Basketball this upcoming season.

Numbers resulting from the 2019-20 season point to Big East Basketball being the top conference in Men’s Division I basketball. Not only did their 101-25 non-conference schedule result in the best non-conference winning percentage, but it was accompanied by the top-ranked conference RPI.

The Big East can also lay claim to being the only conference to have two players selected to the All-American First Team in Myles Powell and Markus Howard. Despite top-25 pre-season polls only including two Big East teams, Villanova is often referred to as a potential No.1 seed, while Creighton will top 20.

With numbers and statistics aside, there are certain things that will happen in the Big East that are such a common belief that they are not worth mentioning, or, they are mentioned just to create a reaction. For instance, this article will not be stating that ‘Villanova will win the Big East” for that is the common consensus, in turn, it will also not be stating “Creighton will win the Big East” for while it is possible, that statement solely exists to be a hot take.

This article is going to address three things that should be obvious, but few are talking about. Feel free to comment if some of these are too obvious, too ‘out there’, or if I neglected to include something. Only March will distinguish knowledge from ‘hot take’
