Brooklyn Nets – Grab best shooting role players

With superstars Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving set to return healthy next season, the Nets will immediately be in title contention. So whoever they select at No. 19, they shouldn’t expect to have a major impact next season. That could change though if the team opts to trade some of its young stars such as Jarrett Allen, Joe Harris, Spencer Dinwiddie or Caris Levert for someone such as Bradley Beal or Jrue Holiday.

If that happens, Brooklyn should simply land a guard who can shoot and score off the dribble. Saddiq Bey from Villanova would work, as well as Kira Lewis if one of the playmaking guards is dealt. Without knowing how this team looks until they’re together, it’s hard knowing what they truly need. But they can’t really go wrong with this pick as long as they contributor as a role player.

Charlotte Hornets – Hope James Wiseman falls to No. 3

While former Celtic Terry Rozier was the big free-agent pickup last offseason, it was Devonte’ Graham who broke up and led the team with 18.2 ppg. This franchise at least has a pair of building blocks on the perimeter for the future. The issue lies in the frontcourt, which simply is one of the worst in the league. PJ Washington had a solid rookie campaign but both Cody Zeller and Bismack Biyombo should be backups at this point.

There’s a potential star big man for the Hornets to take in James Wiseman, a 7’0 big man who plays like a modern-day center. He’s the kind of offensive force that the franchise hasn’t seen since Al Jefferson. This will only happen though if Anthony Edwards and LaMelo Ball are taking first, so Charlotte will be in wait and see mode. Otherwise, they may have to reach to select        Onyeka Okongwu from USC.
