Power forwards

PF 1 – D.J. Funderburk

Funderburk, the third senior on this Wolfpack roster, comes back to Raleigh after deciding to withdraw his name from the NBA Draft pool. He averaged 12 points, six rebounds, and 0.3 assists on 60% shooting last year.

Funderburk at 6’10 has a traditional offensive game, which consists of back to the basket post play and little outside shooting. We should see a big stat increase from Funderburk as we could see him playing center as well. This will depend on if Coach Keatts sees a mismatch he can expose against a smaller opponent.

PF 2 – Nick Farrar

Farrar, a true freshman this year, was a three-star recruit and the No.6 player from North Carolina. He is a wide-bodied and plays like a traditional big man with outstanding footwork at 6’7, 230 pounds.

He can handle the ball but is not the best playmaker. He will need to develop a jump shot but makes up for limitations with his hustle. Farrar will have a very limited role in the NC State rotation in the season. But look for Farrar to eventually develop into a very solid player and a starter at NC State.
