Key Reserves

Tyler Wahl – Sophomore – Wing

A wildcard off the bench for the Wisconsin Badgers goes by the name of Tyler Wahl.

The now-sophomore surprised some folks last season with his level of play.

The 6’7 wing only averaged 2.6 points per game but was able to come off the bench and provide some key minutes as a freshman

With more minutes and a higher activity level in 2020-21, Wahl could blossom into a key contributor for Greg Gard’s team.

He will have to prove himself if he wants to do this with the talented freshman coming in.

This season is crucial for Wahl.

Trevor Anderson – Senior – Guard

Anderson will back up Trice this season and will do so by earning his minutes with hustle.

Like Trice, Anderson does more passing than scoring, which is exactly what will be asked of him off the bench.

He’s someone who can knock down a three when needed but will be used mostly as a facilitator and decoy offensively.

Don’t look for Anderson to take over a game, but pay attention to his poise and leadership at the point guard position.

Johnny Davis – Freshman – Guard

Bench production.

That’s what this freshman will provide for Greg Gard and the Badgers.

Wisconsin’s 2020 “Mr. Basketball” will get a chance to prove himself right away in the rotation at multiple positions.

The combo guard can play alongside Davison and Trice in this offense and can score at will.

Look for his role to increase as the season goes on.

Ben Carlson – Freshman – Forward

I may have saved the best for last as far as reserves go because 4-star freshman Ben Carlson looks like he will be a special player in Madison.

The 6’9 forward can play the 4 or the 5, depending on if the Badgers go small or not.

While it may take some time for Carlson to develop into a toned college basketball player, there is no denying the talent that he is bringing.

His athleticism and feel for the game will benefit him greatly, and once he gets his feet under him he has a chance to be a Sam Dekker/Nigel Hayes type contributor for the Badgers.
