Seton Hall Basketball: Pirates playing in 2020 Wooden Legacy event

As the 2020-21 season approaches, Seton Hall Basketball has joined the Wooden Legacy tournament in Orlando, along with Kansas, UCLA, and Boise State.

Kevin Willard has been known in recent seasons for having a strong non-conference schedule, and this season will be no different. After the Charleston Classic had multiple teams drop out, Seton Hall Basketball has entered the Wooden Legacy, which will take place in the bubble at Walt Disney World in Orlando.

Kansas, UCLA, and Boise State are among the teams participating in the Wooden Legacy this year. Kansas is currently ranked 8th in the nation in Andy Katz’s Power 36, while UCLA is ranked 19th. Boise State is not in Katz’s Power 36, however, Katz did have them under consideration.

Seton Hall Basketball is expected to face UCLA in the first round and then will either play Kansas or Boise State in the second round, depending on the results of the first round, according to Jon Rothstein. The tournament is scheduled to be played on November 25th and 26th, the first two days of the 2020-21 college basketball season.

In addition to the Wooden Legacy, the Pirates already have games scheduled against Baylor at home on November 29th, and away at Rhode Island on December 2nd. Baylor is currently ranked 2nd in the nation on Katz’s Power 36. Seton Hall also has potential matchups against Rutgers and Penn State, if the teams are able to work out a date to play this season.

With the NCAA’s 2020-21 schedule rules and a 20-game conference schedule, Seton Hall will be able to play 3 more non-conference games in addition to their games in the Wooden Legacy and against Baylor and Rhode Island.
