Big Ten Basketball: 5 bold predictions for 2020-21 season
A look at five “bold predictions” that will happen in the Big Ten Basketball this upcoming season.
Despite ending the season as the fifth-ranked conference in terms of RPI, Big Ten Basketball would have had an opportunity to get a record-tying eleven tournament bids into the 2020 NCAA Division I Championship Tournament.
The eleventh bid was dependant on Purdue, who by some measurements had a 35 percent of securing an at-large bid, but the committee has made crazier decisions.
The Big Ten ended the season with six teams in the final AP Top 25 Poll, but with just a total of two players returning from the Big Ten All-Big Ten First Team and Second Team, there is going to be a changing of the guard of sorts for the conference that can currently claim to have the pre-season Player of the Year favorite in Luka Garza.
Similar to the bold predictions for the Big East, this article is going to predict things that should be obvious, but few are talking about. Feel free to comment if some of these are too obvious, too ‘out there’, or if I neglected to include something. Only March will distinguish knowledge from ‘hot take’
