125. . . . Atlanta Hawks. . team

Picks: 6, 50

Needs: Shooting/Perimeter Defense

The Atlanta Hawks are a team just entering contention after last making the postseason in 2017.

With an All-Star point guard in Trae Young manning the backcourt and newly acquired center Clint Capela and emerging forward John Collins patrolling the frontcourt, Atlanta has the key young players to make a playoff run as early as even next year.

Looking forward, however, questions still remain regarding the wing position, shooting, and defense as the Hawks build to contend for years to come. Drafting both DeAndre Hunter and Cam Reddish last season, another year of development will do the former college stars well as they adapt to the professional game.

Despite this though, Atlanta can’t afford to pass on these question marks with their pick at number six, regardless of how much they improved as the season went on.

Expect GM Travis Schlenk to continue to stockpile talent on the wing and target Dayton forward Obi Toppin or Israeli international Deni Avdija to add to his already talented young core.
