Five-star NCAA Basketball prospect Skyy Clark has chosen the Kentucky Wildcats. What is the overall impact of this decision?

In the past few months, Skyy Clark has been one of the biggest names mentioned throughout the NCAA Basketball offseason. The consensus five-star prospect in the 2022 recruiting class, the 6’3 guard has come up with multiple lists of suitors.

It started out with eight, including a number of west coast programs. The California native had Oregon, USC, Michigan, and Tennessee State among his first group of eight, before cutting it down to just four a month ago.

It was down to just Memphis, Kentucky, North Carolina, and UCLA, all of whom have been heavily after the five-star combo guard. However, there was one program that was viewed as a big favorite for a while. And last night, Clark made it official with his announcement.

Another day, another five-star commitment for the Kentucky Wildcats. He’s the first commit of the 2022 class but could reclassify up to the 2021 class, joining top-40 point guard Noah Hickman. Clark is a modern-day scoring point guard, averaging over 25 ppg, and four assists as a junior in high school, and can score anywhere on the court. He’s a potential “one and done” NBA Draft 1st round pick for the future as well.

It’s a big win for Kentucky but how big a loss is it for everyone else? And what else do the Wildcats have in store? Here’s a look at the collective impact of this decision for those involved.
