Why You should know Ebrima Dibba

If Dibba would have played the entire game against Baylor, Coastal Carolina would have won the game and would have gotten their signature win. Even to take it a step further if Dibba would not have gotten hurt and lost for the season the Chanticleers would have finished as one of the top two teams in the league. The sophomore from Sweden is that important and that good. Dibba affects a game in so many ways.

Even though he only played six games last year before he was injured it was easy to see how he could change a game in favor of his team. On the year he averaged 11 points and 4 rebounds on 44% shooting, 50% from deep, and over 94% from the free throw line.

Yes, I understand that was a really small sample size but it was what he was doing against the big teams and how he got all of those points that made it extremely impressive and showed that it is going to be sustainable.

Coastal Carolina was playing Baylor and Utah last year in the tournament they hosted called the Myrtle Beach Invitational. A day before the Baylor game the sophomore showed out on a national stage against a power school in Utah and his efforts of 19 points and seven rebounds along with four assists were a big reason why they were able to blow out Utah.

The following day against Baylor he only had two points but he did secure four rebounds. The biggest thing he did in his 23 minutes against Baylor was he drove the lane and brought and sucked the defense in and with his ability to pass got the ball to the open three point shooters who were able to knock them down.

The Chanticleers had a lot of really good three-point shooters and if they were open they were going to knock them down. Like was mentioned the sophomore doesn’t have to score to change a game. He can do it by setting up his teammates and by his defense.

Dibba is just an all-around pest for his opponents, he is relentless on both ends of the floor and he never takes any plays off. He gives 100% the entire game and that is what makes him such a rarity in college basketball.

Every player still needs skill to be a successful college player but Dibba has the skill to stuff a stat sheet and he is going to look very good in all the effort categories as well. Fans should not miss their opportunity to watch the guard play this year. He does not disappoint
