Sun Belt Basketball: In-depth look at Coastal Carolina star Ebrima Dibba

Expectations for Ebrima Dibba in 2020-21
Coastal Carolina lost a lot of talent and shooting a season ago. When you played the Chanticleers a season ago it was guarding the three point line or watch Coastal Carolina put up a ton of points from downtown. They had two of the best shooters in the league last year. Those two players are now gone, but not to fear as the Chanticleers still return their leading scorer in DeVante Jones and with a full healthy season from Dibba that still makes Coastal Carolina a dangerous team.
It is hard to know what to fully expect out of Dibba. The sophomore guard suffered a knee injury last year and with it not being a normal offseason, it remains to be seen how good the sophomore will be right out of the gate. Even if it takes him a few games to get up to speed his presence is going to help his team win games.
With a full season, Dibba is going to be on the first team all conference selection and should be a lock to win the comeback player of the year. The guard has an outside chance to be considered for the league player of the year but it is hard to predict that now given how serious the injury was.
Coastal Carolina does have some other pieces to work around Jones is one of the best scorers in the entire league and is one of the favorites for the Sun Belt player of the year. Aside from Jones and Dibba the Chanticleers do have a senior guard who is as steady and consistent as they come.
Garrick Green was the only player to start every game a season ago and it is likely that will happen again. The backcourt for the Chanticleers is going to be athletic and they can score in a lot of ways. Coastal Carolina is going to have a good season and with their Swedish guard healthy it could be a great season.
