Arkansas Basketball: 2020-21 season preview for the Razorbacks
With so many new faces, what can be expected of the Razorbacks?
If Isaiah Joe had decided to stick with his decision to return to Arkansas, then the Razorbacks are probably a top-25 season to begin the season. Now that he decided to leave, they are likely not rated as highly and will likely be fighting with the middle of the SEC and others on the NCAA bubble for a trip to the tournament, and a best-case scenario for the Hogs is likely an at-large berth with a Sweet Sixteen ceiling.
With so many new faces, the growing pains will be inevitable and the integration of all the new faces will be paramount to Arkansas’ success this season. The good news is that all of the new faces bring plenty of talent with them, six transfers and five of them averaged double figures and the 32.5 rebounds they combined to average at their previous schools will be a big boost to a team that struggled mightily on the boards last season.
Add to that, the 7th-best recruiting class in the country according to 247sports led by Moody and Robinson in the backcourt and Williams adding much-needed size in the frontcourt, Arkansas has the talent to smooth out some of those expected bumps in the road.
