A look at the franchises who are in most need of shooting for the 2020 NBA Draft.

The Los Angeles Lakers were in the bottom half of the league in terms of 3-point attempts for the 2019-20 regular season. In the postseason, the Lakers remained in the bottom half of teams in 3-point attempts; but this time they increased their 3-point output by 2.6 attempts per game.

This wasn’t a major shift in playstyle for them. But the change to a slightly more aggressive approach from deep led to some unexpected big efforts from streaky shooters like Kentavious Caldwell-Pope, Markieff Morris, and even Rajon Rondo.

Of course, the Lakers’ incredible defense was rightfully the star of the NBA Finals. But without those timely 3-pointers, the Lakers could’ve found themselves in the middle of a high-pressure Game 7.

With a new champion crowned, the rest of the league will continue the metaphorical arms race to catch-up to a LeBron James-led franchise. The 2020 NBA Draft doesn’t offer a ton of top-tier talent on the surface.

But the uncertain nature and parity of this class will mean there will be a ton of untapped 3-and-D potential just waiting to be unearthed by teams willing to take a chance. Here we match up some of the more intriguing 3-point shooting prospects in the 2020 NBA Draft class with their proper fit.

This list includes playoff teams that need shooting like General Manager Elton Brand’s Philadelphia 76ers, and rebuilding teams trying to get over the hump, like the Chicago Bulls and new Vice President of Basketball Operations Arturas Karnisovas.
