Schedule Outlook

While the 2020-21 schedule is not yet completed for Seton Hall, many games have already been locked in. Kevin Willard has been hard at work over the last few weeks as he looks to complete his non-conference schedule for this season. Five non-conference games have already been confirmed, as the Pirates will look to add two more games.

Seton Hall will start the season in Kentucky as part of the Louisville MTE (multi-team event). The Pirates are expected to start the season against Winthrop on November 25th. Last season, Winthrop finished the year with 24 wins and 10 losses, so the Eagles will be no easy task for Seton Hall. Following their matchup against Winthrop, the Pirates will take on Louisville next in the MTE on November 27th. Louisville is a fringe top 25 team this season, which will be a nice early test for Seton Hall.

The Pirates will then travel back home where they will take on Baylor on November 29th. Baylor is expected to be one of the best teams in college basketball this season, so Seton Hall will have their hands full when the Bears arrive in New Jersey. This game is a great opportunity for Seton Hall to pick up a huge Quad 1 victory early on in the season.

Following the Baylor matchup, Seton Hall has two more games scheduled. The Pirates are expected to travel to Rhode Island on December 2nd and Penn State on December 6th. Both games will be nice road tests for the Pirates before they begin the Big East conference season.

The Pirates will likely look to schedule two more non-conference games to round out their schedule, with one expected to be against Rutgers. Due to scheduling conflicts, if Seton Hall and Rutgers are able to schedule a date for their rivalry matchup, it will likely be at some point in the middle of conference play for both teams.

The Big East Conference has also announced the conference schedule for the month of December, but the rest of the conference schedule has not been determined yet.

With the addition of UConn in the Big East, Seton Hall will play a grueling conference schedule this season. Villanova, Creighton, Providence, and UConn will be some of Seton Hall’s toughest opponents this conference season, but those are not the only strong teams in the Big East this year.
