5. DeAndre Bembry – Saint Joseph’s Hawks

DeAndre Bembry had a very successful career with the Hawks. Bembry finished his career with 1,590 points to rank 15th on the Hawks’ all-time list. Bembry was named Atlantic 10 Conference Men’s Basketball Player of the Year in 2016.

As a freshman, Bembry won the Atlantic 10 Rookie of the Year Award. Bembry was a key player in the Hawks push to their first NCAA Tournament berth since 2008 by winning the Atlantic 10 Conference Championship.

The Hawks struggled the following season, however, Bembry was a sensational player on a team that had lost four seniors. Bembry led the Hawks in points (17.7), rebounds (7.7), assists (3.6), and steals (1.9). Bembry was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team.

As a junior, he led the Hawks to their second Conference Championship in three years. The Hawks would go on to defeat the Cincinnati before losing to Oregon in the Round of 32. Bembry was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference First Team for the second straight year. Bembry also received the Atlantic-10 Player of the Year award, Atlantic 10 All-Defensive Team, Robert V. Geasey Trophy, and AP Honorable Mention All-American.

Bembry was selected by the Atlanta Hawks with the 21st overall pick in the 2016 NBA draft. Bembry is currently a member of the Atlanta Hawks. He averaged 5.8 points, 1.3 steals, 1.9 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game last season.
