The 2020 NBA Draft has one of the deepest point guard pools in recent years. Which five teams should prioritize drafting one this year?

The 2020 NBA Draft lacks clarity and consensus.

There are no indisputable, unparalleled, can’t-miss prospects at the top of this class. There isn’t a Zion Williamson or Luka Dončić hiding in the wings, no prospect whose tantalizing upside doesn’t also come with an alarming downside, no elite player that’s established himself as the consensus No. 1 pick.

There’s still debate over who deserves to go first overall among the trio of LaMelo Ball, Anthony Edwards, and James Wiseman, even with the Nov. 18 draft only a couple of weeks away.

Things that can be agreed upon by analysts and fans alike are few and far between.

The one aspect of this year’s draft class that can (or at least should) be agreed on, however, is the depth at the point guard position. As unattractive and underwhelming as this year’s crop of lottery talent may be, this is arguably one of the deeper guard classes in recent years.

It’s also one with the flattest talent curves; outside of Ball and a few other lottery hopefuls who project to be starters, there’s a number of guards who could go anywhere in the 20-45 range, without many degrees of separation between any one player. An NBA team will need to make sure its scouting department has done its homework to determine which players are worthy of drafting, but there are plenty of players who could really benefit a team in need of backcourt help.

With so many point guards available, which five NBA teams should seriously consider selecting one in the 2020 NBA Draft?
