What are some bold predictions for ACC Basketball this 2020-21 season?

To say there are no NCAA Basketball fans who were surprised that ACC Basketball was successful as a conference during the 2019-20 season is an understatement. Despite the fact that an argument can be made for the ACC being ‘top-heavy’ as Florida State, Duke, Virginia, and Louisville were top-15 teams at various points throughout the season, Virginia did not join the other three in the Top-10 of the NET Ranking.

In fact, the rest of the ACC fell somewhere in-between Virginia at No.44 and Boston College at No. 157.

Regardless of the less-than-stellar NET Rankings, the ACC had the second-most non-conference victories, the second-highest non-conference winning percentage while facing the sixth-ranked non-conference RPI.

The ACC will only have two players returning from the All-ACC Second Team, but with Duke welcoming the third-ranked freshman class, and North Carolina Basketball welcoming the second-ranked freshman class in the nation, the conference as a whole is reloading once again.

Similar to the bold predictions of the Big East and Big Ten, this article addresses what few are talking about. Feel free to comment if some of these are too obvious, too ‘out there’, or if I neglected to include something. In a season where March is not guaranteed, any and all bold takes are in jeopardy. If the season does play out, these five takes are something to keep an eye on.
