. Forward. New York Knicks. Patrick Williams. 8. player. 27

Due to how Florida State uses its entire roster in rotations, Williams numbers (9.2 ppg and 4.0 rpg) won’t stand out as much. But he was highly productive when on the court and showcased his elite two-way abilities on offense and defense. Add that he won’t turn 20 years old until the end of the next NBA season, this is a prospect that teams won’t be able to pass up.

"Williams could be a man that the Knicks have been looking for some time. His size and his energy could be a big piece in their rebuilding process. – Nick Dormus"

The Knicks have a lot of forwards on its roster thanks to last season’s free-agent binge. However, the quantity doesn’t mean quality for the team and almost all of them can leave next offseason since they signed shorter deals. Power forward is the one position of major need and landing… and developing Williams would be a better move than trying to hit a home run and eventually striking out.

player. 64. . Point guard. Detroit Pistons. Tyrese Haliburton. 7

Haliburton was viewed as an early 2020 lottery pick over a year ago. He lived up to those expectations when healthy at Iowa State, averaging 15.2 ppg and 6.5 apg in 22 games. He shot 42% from three-point range and 82% at the charity stripe while showing that he can make others better as the lead guard of an offense.

"Detroit needs a point guard and a future franchise cornerstone; His playmaking ability and shot-making ability will allow him to develop nicely. – Will Cash"

Derrick Rose has looked great since arriving at Detroit and has been quite frankly, their best player whenever Blake Griffin isn’t healthy. But the franchise needs to look for their future star guard and Haliburton simply makes too much sense. He can start alongside Rose since he’s 6’5 and can shoot as well, before slowing becoming the lead guard. Plus, they can trade Rose for a future asset, as veteran teams would love to acquire him at the next trade deadline.

. Forward. Atlanta Hawks. Onyeka Onkongwu. 6. player. 125

While on a team with another highly-regarded freshman, it was Okongwu that was the clear-cut best player for USC, averaging 16.2 ppg and 8.6 rpg. The 6’9 center still is developing an offense that can translate to the next level, but his defense and overall sound instincts will make him a coveted option in the top-10. It also helps that after Okongwu, there isn’t another lottery-quality big man to take.

"Clint Capela is starting to age and a year or two of development could lead to Onkongwu starting. – Drew Tineo"

The Atlanta Hawks may not make much sense on paper since the highly talented young forward John Collins is around, along with former Houston Rockets center Clint Capela. However, Capela’s inability to space the floor and Collins not able to play any defense hurt the franchise’s ability to win games. Landing Okongwu would allow them to trade one of them to make the roster better suited to compete long-term.

5. player. 156. . Wing/forward. Cleveland Cavaliers. Obi Toppin

The National Player of the Year, Toppin averaged 20.0 ppg and 7.5 rpg at Dayton and became a star for the team’s epic run. The 6’9 forward played center in college but has the athleticism and versatility to play the small or power forward positions at the next level. Toppin shot 63% from the field and 39% from deep in limited attempts as well and has emerged as a surefire top-10 prospect.

"The reason I selected Toppin here is that he is extremely athletic and has proven he can score in a variety of ways. – Nick Raponi"

It’s a continuing rebuild for the Cavaliers but they have a couple of good building blocks in Darius Garland and Collin Sexton on the perimeter. The future of Kevin Love and Andre Drummond is unknown but they certainly can use a combo forward with high potential like Toppin to add immediate impact on the roster. He may not be a superstar but he’ll be a safer bet compared to some of these young “projects”.
