. Guard. Golden State Warriors. Jalen Harris. 48. player. 41

A monstrous statistical season (21.4 ppg and 3.9 apg) put the 6’4 guard from Nevada on the NBA Draft radar. Harris the type of combo guard that can be effective at either position at the next level and is more than just a pure scorer. Although that will be what helps him make a roster out the gate.

"Jalen is an excellent “all-around player”. With the scheme Golden State has, Harris can fill any guard spots they need with his 6’5 frame. – Drew Tineo"

Golden State doesn’t need scoring with both Curry and Thompson back but with their injury history, it’s important to find competent offensive players that can be productive in their absence. Harris has high potential if everything translates for the Warriors.

47. player. 18. . Guard/wing. Boston Celtics. CJ Elleby

Elleby flew under the radar out west at Washington State but did average just under 19 ppg on a team that had few offensive options. Although his shooting numbers weren’t great (more to do with having opponents key in on him), there are signs that he can be widely effective given the right offensive system.

"Playing alongside offensive threats in Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, and Kemba Walker, Elleby’s offense could take immense pressure off the leaders. – Nick Dormus"

Boston could very well be that place, especially if they decided to part ways with Gordon Hayward this offseason at the wing. The Celtics have plenty of scorers on in the starting lineup but not necessarily from the bench. Elleby could have an impact on the franchise if given the chance.

Portland Trail Blazers. Cassius Stanley. 46. player. 34. . Guard

While most of the attention went to Tre Jones and Vernon Carey Jr., Stanley quietly put up 12.6 ppg and 4.9 rpg as a freshman last season. The 6’6 guard has great size and potential and could very well be a first-rounder in the right situation. He’ll have to prove that he can defend and shoot at a high level in the NBA to maximize his potential.

"Outside of Gary Trent Jr., the Blazers lack young, talented wings. Stanley’s upside is a bit limited given his age (he’s already 21) but his shooting and athleticism should help him contribute right away. – Brandon Simberg"

Portland has another former Duke guard on the roster in Gary Trent Jr. who was a revelation in the bubble thanks to his three-point shooting. As great as Damian Lillard and CJ McCollum are, the Trailblazers will need some good backup guard play to take some pressure off of them. Stanley is someone capable of doing that without needing the ball in his hands.

Orlando Magic. Markus Howard. 45. player. 38. . Guard

The best pure scorer in college basketball last season, Howard averaged 27.8 ppg and had a 50-point effort against USC. The guard made over 40% of his three-point attempts at 10 a game and can score anywhere on the court. What hurts him is his small size (5’11 and 180 pounds), with severe defensive issues.

"A great scorer who can do it in a variety of ways, Howard is worth a selection here even if he brings nothing else to the table besides scoring. – Nick Raponi"

Still, his scoring should be able to translate to the NBA, with Orlando one of the teams that needs guard production the most. Markelle Fultz is starting to turn the corner, while DJ Augustin and Evan Fournier are not long-term answers. If he can prove that he can play defense, Howard could be someone that ends up as a starter in the future.
