Four-star NCAA Basketball guard prospect Corey Floyd Jr. has eight potential options to choose from.

While it seems as if it’s so far away, the NCAA Basketball class of 2022 prospects are now starting to develop their own recruitment. Several players have recently announced a list of suitors, including now, Corey Floyd Jr.

A consensus four-star combo guard prospect out of Roselle, New Jersey, Floyd Jr. has great size and athleticism that allows him to play both ends of the court at a high level. He’s a solid shooter overall but right now may be a better point guard than off the ball. But he’s vaulted into the top-150 overall and with another great offseason can become a top-100 talent.

Recently, Floyd Jr. has announced a list of seven programs that are in the running. However, another has joined the fold in the Villanova Wildcats, verified by the guard himself via a retweet. That makes it eight, with a heavyweight also a contender. Floyd Jr. may be a 2022 target but teams will need to start making a serious run at him or avoid being left in the dust.

Here’s a look at Floyd’s potential fit with all eight programs involved.

Auburn Tigers

It’s been a good offseason for the Tigers, landing five-star class of 2021 forward Jabari Smith and top-100 forward Trey Alexander. Although both Smith and current five-star freshman guard Sharife Cooper are likely to be gone by the time Floyd Jr. arrives, the rest of the current roster are currently underclassmen, meaning that he’ll be joining a veteran and competitive squad when he arrives on campus.

Florida Gators

Even after losing starting point guard Andrew Nembhard this offseason, the Gators still have plenty of perimeter talent for the next couple of years, including Tre Mann and Tyree Appleby. The team will need guards of the future capable of handling the ball, although the offensive scheme that Coach Mke White uses may not be the best for the high-flying Floyd Jr.
